Logic can tell you superficially where a path might lead to, but it cannot judge whether your heart will be in it.” ~ Jean Bolen

Abraxas ~ that which combines all opposites into one Being

Fullness  seeks union with Emptiness

Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn

'the bird is struggling out of the egg,
the egg is the world.
whoever wants to be born must first destroy a world'
Hesse Demain

In his writings on mandala symbolism, Carl Jung refers to the mandala as "the psychological expression of the totality of the self." Within everyone's psyche, to one degree or another, can be found a seed-center of the self surrounded by a chaotic maelstrom of issues, fears, passions and countless other psychological elements.

Furthermore, the central point, or bindu, is the reference point for the self to identify with. Jung refers to this pattern as the "archetype of wholeness."
This ordering effect on the human psyche is not, Jung stresses, the result of conscious reflection or cultural effort. It is a pre-existing condition of consciousness that such patterns help bring it into focus or return to an earlier, more peaceful state. This is why Jung found the mandala to be present in so many cultures and mythologies spanning the globe as well as the history of Humankind itself. It is an integral part of the collective unconscious that is shared by every person that has ever lived. The mandala is an unconscious state in which all opposites come together and are united, where the polar aspects of both cosmos and personality can become one. This union of opposites is the very process by which we become whole, through which we find peace.

Jung also equates the mandala with the eye in form as well as spirit, stating that "the eye is the prototype for the mandala." The eye symbolizes seeing and light, and therefore consciousness itself. The eye is the part of us that beholds the universe and sees our place in it. It is knowledge, awareness and wisdom. The eye takes in light, the pure energy of the universe, and presents it to the inner spirit. It is the gateway, indeed the very union, between the self and the cosmos. As is the mandala. In addition to the structural similarities between the eye and the mandala, the image of the eye is a common element in individual mandalas. Often one can find a repeating pattern of eyes in a mandala. Jung refers to this as polyopthalmia (many-eyed), and considers this a representation of the unconscious as multiple consciousnesses.
It is evident that the mandala is the link, albeit a mysterious one, between our modern consciousness and our most ancient origins.
Jung concluded that "their basic motif is the premonition of a center of personality, a kind of central point within the psyche, to which everything is related, by which everything is arranged, and which is itself a source of energy."

Shadow and Light as One are the essence of Being

wholeness + duality 2 becomes 3, 3 becomes 1

Visualize or sense a "Golden Sun" approximately one metre above your head.  See or feel this warm, soothing energy fill your entire space and cover your skin.  Feel the warmth on your face, on your hands and feet, behind your back, under your legs and arms, and all the way out to the edge of your imagined extended body.  Let your space become completely gold.

Breathe in the energy of your Sun, and feel its warmth as it enters your lungs.  As you breathe, see and feel its energy travel through your bloodstream along with the oxygen you inhale and expand outside your body with every exhalation.  Feel your energy become clean as it lights up your bloodstream, your muscles, your organs, and your bones.  Feel the warmth of its energy fill your abdomen, your hips and legs, your arms and hands, penetrating the inner layers of your skin, and your chest, neck, face, and skull.  Breathe in the warm light and connecting energy.

Let yourself be still and bathe in the energy for a few moments and experience it fully.  This warm, calming, vital energy is now your own.  It is constantly available, and completely within your control.  Feel it as it travels throughout your body, moving gently, illuminating each cell.

Feel the energy as it flows down from you into the earth below. Pulse the energy deep into the heart of the Earth and sense a returning pulse of energy from the heart of the earth up and through your body.

Now focus your attention in the area of your heart and breathe gently but deeply, relax with every breath. Focus on the warming, healing feeling that it generates.  As you do so, sense a brighter form of light beginning to take shape here. This form has a transforming light with intense powers to connect. Feel its energy and become more aware of its qualities. As you watch, it begins to slow drift upward until you can see it floating halfway between your heart and your eyes. What is the quality of its movement? What shape is it taking? Look deeply into its centre; what colours do you see? What are the predominant colours and tones? Does it have tonal qualities, is it transparent: what can you ‘see’ inside it? Look at the shapes that form at its core; try to decipher them. Now focus on its edge as it shifts and stretches outward – are there tendrils or branches, arrows of light and colour or definite shapes and lines. Focus on this form and get to know its essence. Take careful note of what it looks like as you feel it as part of you, connecting every cell in your body to the earth.

Continue to breathe into the form and with each breath envisage or sense it expanding and its energy becoming brighter as it grows.  Feel its essence of loving compassion and feel yourself loved and nurtured for all that you are, without condition or judgment.

Envisage this form opening, see it as a portal opening as you breathe into it and as it opens, you become aware of the greater light behind, see this as the universal heart.  Sense a pulse of energy reaching up from your heart to connect you with this; your highest awareness, purpose and guidance.  At this point, breathe into the universal heart and call upon your highest guidance for remembering and healing into the wholeness of who you really are.

When you feel ready to complete the meditation, withdraw your awareness and energy back into your body, offer thanks to the earth and those you love and who love you. Lie quietly and gratefully in the knowledge that you are supported, known and valued as part of this greater whole. You are wholeness within a greater whole.

Now, come back to the breath, be calm and relaxed as you reconnect with your place on the earth. When you are ready, stretch roll up to sitting, take the pencils and paper and draw the form you experienced in as much detail as you can recall. This is your mandala.

look and listen

“We talk far too much. We should talk less and draw more. I personally should like to renounce speech altogether and, like organic Nature, communicate everything I have to say in sketches. That fig tree, this little snake, the cocoon on my window sill quietly awaiting its future – all these are momentous signatures. A person able to decipher their meaning properly would soon be able to dispense with the written or the spoken word altogether. The more I think of it, there is something futile, mediocre, even (I am tempted to say) foppish about speech. By contrast, how the gravity of Nature and the silence startle you, when you stand face to face with her, undistracted, before a barren ridge or in the desolation of ancient hills.”

tap dream

If another controls the faucet, one may conclude that the dreamer feels his circumstances, for good or ill, are dependent on the whimsy of another.

This whimsy may reflect either greater discomfort or comfort, whether it is an unpredictable boss, lover, or other significant relationship.

flow

To go with the flow is a truly Piscean trait. Some confuse this idea with weakness or compliance but these people don't know the true Piscean character. To go with the flow is to feel the current ~ mindful, open and aware, we travel with universal flows. We know that resistance is futile; we seek to understand first, then to be understood.
